In July 1941, during an execution organized by the Nazi German authorities, 70 (120 as indicated on the memorial) Jewish residents of Linkmenai, including men, women, and children, were killed. They were buried in three pits. Around 1961, the remains of the victims were exhumed, placed in several coffins, and reburied in Švenčionėliai.
This site is listed in the Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage.
