The sculpture "Laumių Pasaka" (The Fairy Tale of Laumės) by Ignalina resident P. Petronis warns that it is dangerous for men to swim in the lake after midnight, as the laumės (mythical water nymphs) will come out and torment the bravest ones by tickling them. Several sculptures depict devils. The old folks say that one of these devils still lives in the nearby Lake Tarama.
