The oak tree grows right next to the fence of Palūšė Churchyard on the southern side. The trunk circumference of the oak is 4.60 meters, its height is 26 meters, and it is 400 years old.
According to a story, a priest once wanted to cut down the oak, but during a thunderstorm, the oak redirected the lightning away from the church. The priest spared the tree, and it has been protecting the church ever since.
