The burial mound site is located on a 150×50 m hill covered with various bushes. The mounds were constructed quite close to each other. There were a total of 43 mounds. The mounds were 5–10 m in diameter (with mound No. 22 being 13 m in diameter) and up to 1 m high. Some of the mounds have flattened and their shapes are barely discernible.
The mounds have been flattened and excavated by treasure hunters. The burial mound site is a cultural monument. Locals referred to the mounds as "Kapinėlės" (small graves) and told stories that French soldiers were buried there.
