This is one of the grandest cultural history complexes in Lithuania. The mixed-style Rietavas Manor Park was established between 1848 and 1855 in a naturally thinned forest. The park covered an area of 60 hectares and was surrounded by a 2-meter-high fence. A linden alley, which still exists today, led from the manor to the church. The park features a complex system of water bodies, including several ponds, a loop of the Jūra River, and an island surrounded by oxbow lakes. Swans have long inhabited the Rietavas ponds, and pheasants were bred on the estate. During the Oginskis' time, the manor's orchestra musicians would perform in the manor, on the islands, and in other picturesque spots within the park. The Rietavas Manor's winter garden was renowned for its diverse plant collection, which included palms, camellias, ficuses, araucarias, orchids, ferns, and many other exotic plants.
