The church was built in 1897. In 1907, a wooden bell tower was constructed behind the churchyard, which is the largest in Lithuania. The churchyard features 14 red brick chapels with Stations of the Cross. The churchyard gates are in the Samogitian Baroque style, unique in Lithuania. These gates contain unique inscriptions, including the names of the gate's founders. The church interior is adorned with an altar with sculptures and paintings of saints. In the churchyard, there are two wooden chapels listed in the Cultural Heritage Register.
