The hillfort (Pilalė) is situated on a separate hill, 100 meters north of the right bank of the Jūra River. The site is oval, elongated in an east-west direction, measuring 50×35 meters, with a 2-meter higher middle section. On the eastern slope, 2 meters below the site, there is a triangular terrace measuring 13×17 meters. A bronze edge axe was found at the hillfort. The slopes are steep, 12-16 meters high. The hillfort has been damaged by gravel excavation on the slopes (the only natural slope remaining is the northeastern slope), and a cemetery was established on the site in the 19th century. It is covered with mixed forest. The hillfort dates back to the 1st millennium BC - early 2nd millennium AD.

It can be reached via the Rietavas-Kuliai road (50 meters to the right (northeast) before reaching the Jūra River).

The tourist infrastructure is not well developed. There are two stands with information about this hillfort.
