The Vėžaičiai Church of St. Casimir, located in the town of Vėžaičiai, is a masterpiece of both architectural and spiritual heritage, situated just 6 km east of Gargždai and nestled by the banks of the Skinija River (a left tributary of the Minija). This sacred site, founded in 1784 thanks to the initiative of the Volmer family, the landowners of Vėžaičiai, features a wooden church that has retained its historical and spiritual value to this day.
In 1804, the church was enhanced with unique organs, and in 1816, a brass bell was installed in the belfry, bearing witness to the craftsmanship and mastery of the past, providing the church with a special auditory presence. This sacred place, with its deep historical and cultural imprint, attracts not only the faithful but also enthusiasts of history, architecture, and spiritual heritage.
