In the early 17th century, the Oginskis nobles built a brick Orthodox church in Kruonis, which included their family burial vault. An Orthodox monastery also operated next to the church. In 1919, the church was transferred to Catholics and converted into a Catholic church.
In 1927, a wooden church was built on the outskirts of Kruonis, on Slava Street. It houses the icon "Kazan Mother of God" with a cover, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. Even today, services are held there during major Orthodox holidays.
