St. Joseph’s Cathedral (Liepājas Sv. Jāzepa Catholic Church) is one of the most important Catholic centers in Courland and the largest church in Liepāja. It was built in the late 19th century, when the rapidly growing city became an important port and cultural hub. The Neo-Gothic sanctuary features two tall towers, beautiful stained glass windows, and a spacious interior that can hold more than 2,000 worshippers. Dedicated to St. Joseph, the protector of families, the cathedral is considered highly significant for the local community. Today, it hosts services, religious celebrations, and concerts, while the building itself stands as one of Liepāja’s most remarkable architectural landmarks, attracting both pilgrims and visitors.
