Vilnius Japanese Garden is a peaceful 4.9-hectare oasis in the Šeškinė district, designed by renowned Japanese landscape architect Shiro Nakane. This walk-through garden (kaiyū-shiki-teien) invites visitors to follow winding paths clockwise while enjoying serene nature. Key features include a pond, waterfall, moon and pontoon bridges, children's play areas, musical instruments, informational stands, benches, water fountains, and public restrooms. A standout element is the concept of borrowed scenery (shakkei), where artificial hills and greenery visually merge with the Šeškinė slope. The garden beautifully reflects all four seasons—from blooming sakura in spring to vivid maple colors in autumn. It’s a perfect spot for families, nature lovers, and peaceful walks.
