Mergakalnis Escarpment

The Mergakalnis Escarpment is the highest cliff by the Kaunas Reservoir, standing at 42 meters tall. It offers a wide panoramic view, including Bird Island and the Kruonis Pumped Storage Plant. According to one legend, women of loose morals were thrown off this cliff. Before being thrown, they were put into barrels filled with nails or into sacks with rabid cats.
