The Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hearken” is one of the newest Orthodox sanctuaries in Tallinn, located in the Lasnamäe district. It was built in honor of the famous icon of the Virgin, a copy of which was kept in the Pühtitsa Convent. Construction began during the time of Patriarch Alexy II, and in June 2013 the church was solemnly consecrated by Patriarch Kirill. The building is in Byzantine style, with a single dome, constructed from light stone that blends harmoniously with the Lasnamäe cliffs. Next to it are a square and a bell tower. Today, the church serves as an important spiritual center for the local Orthodox community as well as an architectural landmark that attracts visitors with its majestic yet welcoming atmosphere.
