Krimulda Church is one of the oldest masonry architectural sanctuaries in Latvia, founded as early as 1205. Its history is closely linked to the Liv king Kaupo, who, after returning from a journey to Rome, received a gift of 100 gold coins from Pope Innocent III. With this money, priest Alobrands built the first church in Kaupo’s land – in Kubesele, which later became Krimulda Church. This church is special not only for its history but also for its openness – travelers can open its doors at any time of day, find peace, experience silence, and even enjoy a cup of tea in the nearby travelers' hut. Thanks to its cozy atmosphere, it is also loved by newlyweds dreaming of getting married in a historic, legend-filled place. Krimulda Church is a space of fellowship and faith, where people meet with God and with one another.
