German Army Bunker Remains in Kegums HPP Reservoir

On the shore of the Kegums Hydropower Plant reservoir, about 600 m east of Nega Bay, opposite Jaundaugļi, lie the remains of a World War I German Army concrete firing point. The structure slid into the water, breaking into several parts, now overgrown with birch trees and dense vegetation. One section is connected to the shore by a pedestrian bridge. This is part of the German defensive line along the left bank of the Daugava, a large-scale military system spanning the river’s length. The remains are visible when sailing on the waters of Kegums HPP.
