In Trikāta Parish, Strenči pine forest (approx. 33 ha), the German army built fortified depot positions at the end of WWII. In 1944, light and heavy artillery, tanks, guns, and motorcycles were stationed here. About 100 rectangular pits with small embankments, arranged in straight lines, remain visible in nature and on LIDAR maps. The largest measures 10x24 m, the smallest 10x12 m. This site preserves wartime heritage and invites visitors to explore the surrounding forest trails.
