Audru Holy Cross Church is one of the oldest rural Lutheran churches in Estonia, built in 1680. This Baroque-style church, notable for its narrow Gothic tower and vaulted ceilings, is an important religious heritage site in Estonia. The 19th-century interior features preserved wooden pews, a pulpit, an organ balcony, and at the center of the altar is Gustav Biermann’s painting “Christ on the Cross,” donated by noblewoman Pilar von Pilchau. The church was supported by renowned Swedish patron Magnus Gabriel de la Gardie. Audru Church is an ideal stop for those seeking historical sites in Estonia or traveling cultural routes across the Baltics.
