"Kalna Kaibēni" is the oldest memorial museum in Latvia, established in 1929. It was home to the famous writers and educators, brothers Reinis and Matīss Kaudzīte, who authored the first Latvian novel Time of the Surveyors. The homestead also housed a parish school, where they taught more than 1,200 students. Visitors to the museum can see authentic furniture, personal items, travel souvenirs, a garden gazebo, and figures from the novel. Nearby, there is a viewing platform inspired by the Eiffel Tower. This place opens a window into Latvia’s educational and literary history.
