The Underground Lakes are one of the most impressive and surprising places in Latvia, consisting of two sandstone caves along the Brasla River. One cave holds a natural spring, while the other hides a crystal-clear miniature lake, with an atmosphere straight out of a fairytale. This rare natural wonder can only be accessed with a guide – individual visits are not allowed due to safety and conservation reasons. Most visitors say, “I never imagined such a place could exist in Latvia!” Tours are cancelled in heavy rain, so it's advised to check conditions in advance. A truly authentic nature experience for curious travelers and nature lovers.
