In 2014, an exhibition dedicated to resistance and exile was opened in Klaipėda, within the former building of the Soviet Union's state security (KGB), now owned by the Klaipėda Territorial Customs. This exhibition allows visitors to acquaint themselves with the tragic period of 1945-1954, during which 8,268 individuals were imprisoned in this location. The exhibition features three areas: two preserved authentic prison cells and an investigator's office, revealing the movement of Western Lithuanian partisans, the struggle against armed Lithuanian resistance, repressive structures, and the history of political prisoners and the exile of Klaipėda region residents. Visits to this unique exhibition are available by prior registration, for both individual visitors and organized groups.
