In Kolka, you can see a unique mobile sculpture – a symbolic meeting point of a ship and a wave. Here, every visitor can ring a real ship’s bell, becoming part of maritime tradition. This artwork is dedicated to Captain Visvaldis Feldmanis – a long-time keeper of the Kolka lighthouse and a devoted promoter of maritime culture. Born on the Livonian coast, he actively participated in the changes during the Latvian Awakening and spent the last 20 years of his life in Kolka. The sculpture invites everyone to discover their own life’s lighthouse – as a guide, a hope, or a dream.
