In the Švenčionys district municipality, near Stūgliai, within the Švenčionys eldership, stands a historic hillfort accompanied by an adjacent settlement, serving as an important archaeological site that reveals fragments of past life. This geographically distinct site, situated on a separate hill, features an oval, elongated plateau oriented north-south, measuring 55×45 meters, with some areas showing up to a 3-meter difference in ground level. Unique findings, such as a stone axe with a shaft hole, a fragment of an iron knife, and grooved pottery, have been uncovered here. The steep slopes, ranging from 4 to 12 meters in height, and the hillfort's disturbance from plowing activities on the northern, western, and southwestern flanks, which have formed terraces up to 10 meters wide, testify to significant human activity and the hillfort's importance to past communities.
