Dūkštai Oak Grove is the largest and one of the oldest natural oak groves in Lithuania. Here, under the shade of ancient oaks, over 200 years old, a variety of rare and endangered species of animals, plants, fungi, and lichens thrive. While traveling along the oak grove trails, one can see up to seven species of bats, the greater noctule, deer, wild boars, green woodpeckers, the great spotted woodpecker, black storks, and the little eagle. Additionally, the croaking of frogs—red-bellied toads—can often be heard, chirping like birds.
After finishing the hike, don't miss the chance to stop by the mysterious Airėnai Stone with symbols. It is said that a small offering, such as a flower petal or a coin, helps fulfill wishes.
