The Latvian Hillfort is located on the bank of the unnamed right tributary of the Sukra River, on a promontory surrounded by deep streams and valleys, near the northeastern edge of the Kazokiškės forest. The summit platform of the hillfort has a triangular shape, measuring 58 meters in length and 28 meters in width at the southern edge. On this platform, pottery fragments with molded decorations have been found, indicating the presence of ancient inhabitants. The hillfort, now covered in dense bushes and undergrowth, developed after the clearing of a spruce forest, yet it remains an important archaeological and historical monument. Excavations at the hillfort uncovered a treasure of coins and silver ingots, which is now displayed at the Kernavė History Museum. This valuable find sheds light on the history of the site and its significance in the context of ancient Lithuanian trade and cultural life.
