The Ugioniai Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a unique sacred site built in 1836. This folk Classical-style church features a rectangular plan, an elegant portico, and a graceful tower on the ridge. Nearby, a centuries-old wooden chapel houses a spring considered holy. According to legend, in 1657, an image of the Virgin Mary appeared above it, and locals soon noticed the water's healing properties. It is believed that washing one's eyes with this water can restore vision. To this day, pilgrims and travelers collect water from the spring, trusting in its special powers. Ugioniai Church and its miraculous spring remain a significant religious tourism destination, attracting both believers and admirers of history and architecture.
