In 1900, the residents of Švenčionėliai petitioned the authorities for permission to build a chapel near the cemetery, but the request was denied. In 1903, upon receiving permission to build, the community's desire had shifted—they now aimed to construct a church. At the beginning of 1906, Father Jonas Burba established a temporary altar at one end of a residential house and lived in the other end. Initially, a community grain warehouse was converted into a wooden church in 1907, and the official establishment of the parish was granted in 1910. In 1929, under the initiative of parish priest Ambraziejus Jakavonis, the construction of the current brick church began. This church features a historicist style, a rectangular plan, and a twin-tower appearance. The interior consists of three naves separated by pillars, and the churchyard fence is made of brick with metal elements.
