The Užutrakis Manor complex is a historical gem located between Lake Galvė and Lake Skaisčiai. In the 14th century, it was known as "Algirdas Island," later belonging to the Tatars and many noble families. In the 19th century, the manor was acquired by Count Juozapas Tiškevičius, whose son Juozapas and his wife Jadvyga Svetopolk-Četvertinska established an exceptional residence here.

The palace was designed by Polish architect Józef Hus, and the park was created by the renowned French landscape architect Édouard François André. The French-style parterres, adorned with sculptures and flowerbeds, contrast with the romantic, English-style park pathways, winding through lakes, ponds, and artificial rocks.

After being abandoned during the Soviet era, the manor is now being restored. The restored palace, park, and various cultural activities invite visitors to explore its rich history.

Užutrakis Manor Complex is a unique cultural heritage site located on a peninsula between Lake Galvė and Lake Skaisčiai. Historical sources from the 14th century mention this area as "Algirdas Island," later belonging to Tatar nobility. In the second half of the 19th century, it was acquired by Count Juozapas Tiškevičius. His son Juozapas Tiškevičius Jr., who married Polish princess Jadvyga Svetopolk-Četvertinska, established the Užutrakis Manor here, complete with magnificent palaces and a grand park. The luxurious residence on the shore of Lake Galvė was designed by Polish architect Józef Hus. The palace impresses with its historicist-style façade and opulent Louis XVI-era interiors, while open pavilions and terraces offer breathtaking views of the Trakai Archipelago
and the legendary Trakai Castle. The unique park was designed in 1898 by the famous French landscape architect Édouard François André. Here, French symmetry meets the freedom of the English landscape – the palace is surrounded by formal parterres with trimmed linden alleys, flowerbeds, sculptures, and fountains, while naturally winding paths stretch past ponds, artificial rocks, and rare trees. After World War II, Užutrakis was nationalized, and the manor complex was used as a sanatorium and rest center for Soviet officials. Once abandoned for many years, the site is now rapidly being revitalized – the palace is being restored, park elements are being recreated, and visitors can enjoy not only the stunning nature but also various cultural and educational activities.
