President Antanas Smetona's manor stands on the beautiful shore of Lake Lėnas, near his birthplace in Užulėnis. The history of this manor began in 1934, when, to mark A. Smetona's 60th birthday, it was decided to gift him a farm.
The fundraising initiative was organized by the nationalist committee, and in 1935, 80 hectares of land were purchased from Count K. Radvila, the owner of the Taujėnai manor, and other landholders. Additionally, the state allocated 25 hectares of forest to the president as a signatory of the Act of Independence. Thus, a 110-hectare estate was formed, named Užugirio Courtyard.
Today, the manor has been restored and is open to visitors—guided tours, educational programs, and cultural events are held here, helping to explore the history of interwar Lithuania.
