The Čėkuva Manor, located in the Raseiniai district, was once renowned for its impressive avenue of poplar trees. It is said that the manor owner himself brought these trees from abroad and carefully preserved them. Unfortunately, today the avenue is almost gone, as are the manor’s main buildings.

The exact date of their construction is unknown, but the first owner of the estate was Šemėta, and the last owner was V. Mileris. After World War II, from 1944 to 1956, the manor house housed the Ariogala Gymnasium. Later, it became a tuberculosis hospital, which operated until 1990. After the hospital moved out, the manor was left without an owner and began to deteriorate.

Today, Čėkuva Manor is a fading trace of Lithuania's history, a remnant of past times, still waiting for its revival.
