Ausieniškiai Manor recalls grand historical events. In 1812, Napoleon Bonaparte spent the night here before continuing his journey to Vilnius. The manor palace was built in 1815, and in 1831, a battle between insurgents and the Tsar’s army took place nearby, ending in the rebels’ defeat.
Until 1935, the manor was owned by Boleslovas Karčiauskas, followed by Felicija Stašienė, who had her property rights restored in 2001. Although only fragments of the manor remain today, this place remains an important part of Lithuania’s history, commemorating Napoleon’s campaign and the struggles for freedom.
