Palanga Old Pharmacy is one of the oldest pharmacies in Lithuania, founded in 1827 by Wilhelm Johann Grünig. The pharmacy was known for producing the original herbal extract "Trejos devynerios." In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the pharmacy was run by the Grünig father and son, who gained fame for their loyalty to Lithuanian culture. In 1910, the pharmacy was purchased by Wilhelm Berting, and between 1940 and 1944, the building housed a library and the NKVD headquarters. In 1992, the pharmacy was designated as a cultural heritage site of regional importance. Today, the building continues to function as both a pharmacy and a residential space.

Palanga Old Pharmacy is one of the oldest pharmacies in Lithuania, established in 1827 by Wilhelm Johann Grünig, a German from Riga. Grünig also patented the original 27-herb extract "Trejos devynerios." In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the pharmacy was managed by father and son Grünig, who became famous for their loyalty to Lithuanian culture—during the press ban period, they printed prescriptions and labels in Lithuanian. In 1910, the pharmacy was purchased by the German pharmacist Wilhelm Berting, and later, in 1923, it was inherited by his son Oskar Alexander Berting. In
1937, the pharmacy was taken over by O. A. Berting’s heirs, and in 1938, it was rented to Zigmas Bagdonavičius. From 1940 to 1944, the library operated in the northern wing of the building. From 1944 to 1951, the building housed the NKVD headquarters, a historical fact memorialized by a plaque. After various reconstructions and the post-war period when the pharmacy became a state enterprise, the building was granted the status of a regional cultural heritage site in 1992. The building continues to operate as a pharmacy and residential space in the southern part of the structure.
