Gedimino Castle Tower, situated on Gediminas Hill, is the only surviving fortification tower of the Upper Castle and one of Vilnius' most important symbols. According to legend, Grand Duke Gediminas dreamt of the Iron Wolf here, which foretold the birth of a mighty city. In the 14th century, a wooden castle stood on this site, and in 1409, Grand Duke Vytautas built a stone castle, which eventually lost its military significance. Today, Gedimino Tower houses a branch of the National Museum of Lithuania. Visitors can explore a historical exhibition showcasing models of the Vilnius castles, Baltic jewelry, weaponry, and

iconography. Interactive displays allow visitors to experience Teutonic invasions, the growth of the city during the Renaissance, and historical panoramas.
