Located on the bank of the Vilnelė River, near a café in Užupis, it captivates both tourists and locals with its fish tail and long hair. The Užupis district, home to one of Vilnius' most iconic sculptures, "The Undine of Užupis," is not only a haven for artists but also a major tourist attraction. Created by sculptor Romualdas Vilčiauskas, the bronze sculpture adorns the Vilnelė River bank, attracting both locals and foreign tourists. This unique sculpture, depicting a fish tail and long hair, is often referred to as the "Maiden of Užupis" and has become a symbol of the district, whose charm is hard to miss. Positioned in front of a café in Užupis, it allows visitors to enjoy views of Vilnius Old Town, while the "Undine" herself evokes various mysteries and legends,
often tied to love stories that have conquered the city. In 2004, the waters of the Vilnelė River "carried away" the sculpture, but it was quickly returned to its place. Many believe that the "Undine" attracts people from around the world and creates a unique connection with Užupis, making this location an unforgettable experience for anyone who visits this enchanting district. If you believe in magic, Užupis certainly has something to offer. Additionally, the nearby Užupis Bridge, which connects the Old Town with Užupis, enhances the area with its history and a collection of "love locks" often seen on the bridge.
