The Bank Building, constructed in 1935 based on the design of architects A. Funka and M. Songaila, is a notable example of interwar architecture that has survived in Tauragė. This building features neoclassical architectural elements that were popular in structures of that period. The Bank Building stands out for its elegant and solid appearance, with a harmonious blend of classical elements and modern trends in its design. During World War II, the building remained unharmed, preserving both its exterior and interior structure. After the war, it housed a hotel and restaurant, and since 1977, the building has been used for its original purpose – as a bank. Today, the Bank Building is not only an important architectural monument of Tauragė but also an intriguing cultural object that reflects the city's history and the industrial period of the interwar era.
