The Monument to Vladimiras Putvinskis was erected in Tauragė in 1930, between Tauragė Castle and the Cultural Center. The monument was dedicated to honor the memory of Vladimiras Putvinskis. After World War II, Soviet soldiers toppled, destroyed, and buried the monument. During the period of Lithuania's Revival, the monument was restored as a symbol of the struggle for Lithuania's independence and as a tribute to one of the nation's key fighters.
