Established in 1621, the Šilutė Manor stands out with its late Classicist and Historicist architectural elements, complemented by subtle decor characteristic of the Klaipėda region. The manor gained its greatest prominence in 1889 when it was acquired by Dr. Hugo Šojus, a notable patron of Šilutė. On the manor's land, significant structures such as a market square, hospital, gymnasium, and other key buildings were developed.

Since 2015, the manor has housed the Hugo Šojus Museum and the Šilutė Tourist Information Center. The renovated manor offers insights into the history of the Klaipėda region and features educational centers where restoration and crafts workshops are held.

The state-owned Šilutė Manor was established in 1621, showcasing late Classicist and Historicist architectural styles along with decor unique to the Klaipėda region. A significant chapter in the manor’s history began in 1889 when it was acquired by Dr. Hugo Šojus, a prominent benefactor of Šilutė. He modernized the estate, allocated portions of its land to the town, and fostered its growth. Key developments on the former manor lands included a district hospital, market square, gymnasium, post office, port, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church. In 2015, the restored manor became home to the Hugo Šojus Museum, where visitors can explore
the unique history of the Klaipėda region. The manor features restored interiors, museum exhibits, and the Šilutė Tourist Information Center. Additionally, several former manor estate buildings have been converted into educational and restoration centers hosting craft workshops and training sessions. During the Soviet era, the manor was used as a center for various educational institutions and agricultural activities. However, much of its museum collection was destroyed in 1944 when the Red Army occupied the site. Despite its turbulent history, the manor remains a vital cultural landmark and a popular tourist attraction in Šilutė.
