The construction of Peters Bridge began in 1912 and was completed in 1914, serving residents who paid a toll to cross. Remarkably, the bridge remained intact during both World Wars, but in 1944, it was partially destroyed by retreating German forces. Near the bridge, the old Rusnė post office was established, now operating as the "Prie Peterso tilto" hotel-restaurant. Visitors can enjoy views of the Atmata River, the bridge remnants, and an observation deck.

The construction of Peters Bridge commenced in 1912, alongside the establishment of a power plant, which introduced electricity to Rusnė. Although the bridge’s grand opening was planned for September 1, 1914, the outbreak of World War I on August 1 delayed the final touches. Nevertheless, the bridge was completed on October 10, 1914. It remained undamaged through both World Wars and served the local community for over 30 years until part of it was demolished in 1944 by the retreating German army. During its use, tolls were collected from passengers crossing the bridge. After the war, the old Rusnė post office was established near the bridge. Today, the site offers views of the Atmata River, remnants of the bridge, and an observation platform. The former post office, built in the German National Style, now houses the "Prie Peterso tilto" hotel-restaurant, where visitors can immerse themselves in history while enjoying the picturesque surroundings.
