Established in 1997, the Kazimieras Banys Ethnographic Fisherman’s Homestead-Museum reflects the traditional lifestyle of a fishing farmer. The homestead houses an extensive collection of items no longer in use today, including fishing and household tools, furniture, work implements, clothing, and other artifacts. Each object tells its own story, revealing insights into the life and work of the past. The homestead, with over 200 years of history, preserves and conveys the traditional way of life in the Pamarys region. The exhibition allows visitors to delve into the daily routines and activities of fishing farmers from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It also contributes to the preservation and presentation of the cultural heritage of the Pamarys region for future generations. As the homestead is privately owned, visits are restricted and possible only by prior arrangement, typically outside of regular working days.
