The first drawbridge over the Atmata River was built in 1914. Known as the Peters Bridge, it featured two arches, remnants of which can still be seen today. Construction ceased in 1944 when the retreating German army destroyed the bridge. For the next 30 years, until 1974, Rusnė residents relied on a ferry to cross the Atmata River.
After a long 60-year period, a new reinforced concrete bridge was completed in 1974. This modern bridge, measuring 333 meters in length, 10 meters in width, and 15 meters in height, became a critical infrastructure element, providing convenient access between Rusnė and other regions.
