Paberžė Hillfort, located in the village of Šilai, is situated on the left bank of the Beržanka Stream and dates back to the 11th–15th centuries. This significant archaeological and cultural monument served as a defensive site during the Middle Ages. The hillfort is surrounded by the stream valley to the northwest, southwest, and southeast, while a nearby elevation to the northeast enhanced its strategic importance.
The hillfort features moderately steep slopes, reaching up to 7 meters in height, though they have been eroded over time by natural processes and agricultural activities. Remnants of embankments, which have flattened over the years, are still visible. Despite the damage, the site's historical and cultural value remains substantial.
