Mikniškės is a place where a unique Orthodox community has long been established. This old manor, mentioned since 1850, is known for its spiritual culture and history. The community gathered in 1920–1922 when Priest Pontijus Rupyševas converted the daughters of landowner Osip Koreckis to Orthodoxy. This closed community continues to live in harmony with nature, cultivates agriculture, and has its own library and museum.
The main attraction of the village is the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow," built in 1917, which draws lovers of sacred art and history.
