Martynaičiai Hillfort, also known as Pilale or Castle Hill, is located in a striking promontory where the Minija River meets the Pilė stream. This area is covered by deciduous forest, but the hillfort's outer embankments have been almost completely destroyed by years of plowing. At the foot of the hillfort lies an ancient settlement, where remnants of cultural layers, including pottery shards, charcoal, and pieces of clay plaster, have been discovered.
This hillfort is not only a natural beauty but also a witness to history, preserving traces of ancient settlements. A visit here offers the opportunity to experience the spirit of ancient times and enjoy the tranquility of nature.
