The Bajorai Railway Bridge, located near Kretinga, is a unique architectural landmark in Lithuania. In 2015, this three-arched stone bridge was commemorated on a postage stamp, but it is worth seeing in person. Built in 1892 by the Germans, the bridge connected the Tilžė–Klaipėda railway section in Bajorai and became an integral part of the region's history.
The bridge stands over the Tenžė River and was constructed from dressed stone masonry. The Germans intentionally left cavities in the structure, which could have been used to blow up the bridge in case of military need, but this scenario was never required. Today, the Bajorai Bridge has preserved its late 19th-century appearance and continues to charm visitors with its authentic architecture.
