The Valėnai Hillfort, also known as Pilale or Raudonkalnis, is located on the right bank of the Babrūnė Stream, in the valley of the Dangė River. This defensive fortification of the Curonian lands dates back to the late 1st millennium – early 2nd millennium. Archaeological finds, such as layers of ash and charcoal fragments, indicate that wooden fortifications once stood here, destroyed by fire. Nearby, on the Babrūnė riverbank, fragments of pottery shards and slag suggest the presence of a settlement. The hillfort was connected to the nearby Anduliai Hillfort.
Although the hillfort has been significantly disturbed by plowing, the tree-covered hill remains an interesting cultural and historical site, attracting travelers interested in the mysteries of the past.
