The Raguviškiai Stone, also known as Balnakūlis, is a unique natural and historical site. Its dimensions are impressive – 3.4 meters in length, 0.7 meters in width, and up to 1.5 meters in height. The stone is distinguished by a depression in the middle, which gives it the appearance of a saddle. This shape has given rise to numerous legends surrounding the boulder.
Local tales tell that the devil once "rode" the Balnakūlis but later abandoned it. Another story links the stone to soldiers from the Napoleonic era – it is said that, while retreating from Lithuania, they hid money under the stone. Passersby often report seeing flames burning above the stone, believed to mark the location of hidden treasure.
Balnakūlis is not only surrounded by myths but is also one of the most intriguing spots, attracting tourists who wish to experience the historical and cultural spirit of the Kretinga region.
