On the right bank of the Įpiltis River, near the hillfort, stands the seventh largest boulder in Lithuania – Daubos Kūlis. This geological and cultural monument, also known as Laumės Kūlis (The Fairy’s Boulder), measures 8.5 x 6.5 meters and is notable for its flat surface. It is said that the indentation on the stone is the footprint of a fairy.
The stone is surrounded by numerous legends. It is said that at night, ghosts would appear near it, and little flames would move towards the hillfort. Locals believed that a sauna once stood on the stone, where girls, boys, and farmers would gather in the evenings. In the past, the youth from New and Old Įpiltis would celebrate May Day near Daubos Kūlis, dancing, and sometimes even dancing on the boulder itself.
