The First Estate Pond Recreation Area

The Kretinga Manor park, covering 23 hectares, holds many interesting features, but not all visitors discover the First Estate Pond, also known as the "third pond." This water body is not only a historical site but also the most popular recreation area in Kretinga. On hot summer days, the pond's shore resembles a seaside beach: people sunbathe on the grass, enjoy the sandy bank, or splash around in the clear water.
The recreation area by the pond is well-equipped, offering changing cabins, toilets, a playground, a pier, and well-maintained surroundings. Interestingly, in the late 19th century, the Tiškevičiai family used the pond not for leisure but for hunting – it was abundant with waterfowl. Today, the estate park features three ponds, whose waters once cascaded, creating a unique landscape.
