The Old Cemetery of Kretinga is a place where the legacy of the nobility, spiritual heritage, and symbols of respect for the national heroes intertwine. Here stands the impressive Tiškevičiai family chapel-mausoleum, built in 1893 according to the design of the renowned architect Karl Eduard Strandman. Nearby is the Franciscan monks' burial site, where rests Father P. Bizauskas O.F.M., the revitalizer of the Franciscan Order in Lithuania, buried in 1937.
The cemetery also honors the volunteer soldiers, with a monument dedicated to them, while the peaceful chapel with the early 20th-century sculpture of the "Blessed Virgin Mary" attracts visitors seeking quiet and contemplation. This place not only preserves historical memory but also inspires a deeper understanding of past values.
