Located in Darbėnai, on Vaineikiai Street, this is the only museum of its kind in Lithuania, where visitors can view an impressive collection of textiles. The museum was established by textile artisans Daiva and Arūnas Dudėnai in their home. The exhibition spans both floors of the building, where visitors can admire hundreds of woven belts and towels, forming a unique collection – one of the largest in Lithuania.
The museum showcases the purpose and history of various belts and towels. Here, you will learn about the special significance of wedding, anniversary, and funeral belts, as well as towels used for carrying bread or covering a person. Some of the exhibits are textile masterpieces from the interwar period, carefully collected from antique shops or received as gifts.
Additionally, museum visitors have the opportunity to participate in educational activities – baking bread in an old-fashioned oven or experiencing other authentic activities.
