You don’t need to travel to Switzerland to witness stunning natural wonders – the Dauginčiai Cliff in the Kretinga district offers mesmerizing views of the Minija River’s meanders. This natural beauty spot is 44 meters wide and 22 meters high, providing a breathtaking view throughout the year.
The Dauginčiai Cliff is one of the main attractions of the Šilpelkė Forest Educational Trail. The trail stretches for 1.5 kilometers, and as you walk along it, you can not only enjoy the cliff but also visit the historical Dauginčiai Hillfort, a sign that people have inhabited this area since ancient times. Trail visitors are delighted by the hornbeam grove, and the more observant might spot the rare Tūlžė, a species listed in the Red Book.
